Canterbury look for a way through against Staines
Canterbury remain four points clear at the top of National 3 London & South East after running in nine tries to demolish Staines 55-14 on Saturday.
The city club were pushed hard in a competitive first half but ran away from their visitors after the break to chalk up an 11 straight league win.
An early Wim Baars try was cancelled out by Tom Jones, before Peter Kelly and Juan Del Val crossed to put Canterbury back in charge.
Lewis Pruce then touched down to bring Staines back into contention but once Sam Rogers had given Canterbury a 26-14 lead at the break, it was all one-way traffic in the home side’s favour.
Baars score his second try after the interval, with Steve Goode and Paul Brown also getting in on the act before Martyn Beaumont capped a fine individual display with two tries of his own to complete the rout.
