A Canterbury teenager has returned home safe and well, after she went missing last week.

Meryl Turner-Maynard, 18, disappeared from her Gas Street home last Wednesday (July 21) at 1.30pm and had been due to return later in the afternoon.

Following appeals through the media from her family this week, Meryl returned home on Wednesday morning.

Officers visited her and established she was safe and well.

Kent Police have thanked local media and members of the public for their help in tracing Meryl.
