With the most talked about wedding of the year a matter of months away one carvery has gone all out and made a royal pork-trait.
The Punch Tavern in Calcott Hill in Canterbury, which is part of Crown Carveries, has made a meal out of Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton’s faces.
The picture of the happy couple, which is fit for a king, is designed to mark the celebration in style and took food artist Prudence Staite around four hours to whip up.
The carvery rolled out the red carpet for the royal love birds to create the carrot-cature that is almost too good to eat.
Turkey was used for the skin; beef and gammon for the hair; cauliflower for Will’s shirt and peas, green beans and sprouts for his jumper.
Carrots carve out Kate’s dress with gravy and sauces defining their features and gravy the ‘iconic’ engagement ring.
Graham Heath, manager at the Punch Tavern, said: “As Crown Carveries is the most regal carvery brand in the UK we wanted to show our support for the royal wedding and what better way to do this than to create the UK’s official ‘fork-trait’, using all the majestic ingredients found on one of our princely banquets – a roast with all the trimmings.
“The ‘fork-trait’ is certainly eye-catching and we are proud to present this gift to give the happy couple as a tasteful memento of their special day.”
