Car crashes into house

A driver had a lucky escape after crashing her car into a house.

The woman in her 20s was driving a silver Vauxhall at 8.45am on Thursday in Homestall Lane in Goodnestone, near Faversham, when she came off the road and ploughed into the property.

Although the car was badly damaged the driver was uninjured.

No one was in the house at the time of the accident.

Police and firefighters were sent to the scene as smoke was coming from the car and it was feared in could catch fire.

Questions were raised about the structural safety of the building and specialist engineers were called to investigate the extent of the damage.
