A car ploughed into the front of a house in the latest accident on a village road locals say is being treated like "a race circuit".
The most recent crash on the A252 in Molash, between Ashford and Canterbury, saw a car collide with a parked vehicle, which was then propelled into the front of a neighbouring property.
As a result of the damage to the house in The Street, its occupant has now been forced to move out while plans are made to repair the home.
The accident, which happened at about 10pm on December 18, left a passenger with minor injuries and saw the driver flee the scene before police arrived.
Describing the moment the vehicle crashed into his home, the neighbour, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "The driver lost control, hit my neighbour's car, which was then pushed through the wall of the house into my living room.
"I had only just gone to bed so was luckily not sitting in my chair.
"Since then I have had to find other sleeping arrangements until my insurance company can find me a place to live for the next six months."
Villagers have now started an online petition calling for Kent County Council (KCC) to reduce the speed limit on the A252 through the village to 30mph.
It has been organised by Ross Seadon, who moved to the road two years ago and says he has been shocked by the speed of traffic passing by his home.
Last year his garden was damaged when a vehicle crashed into the front of his property, where he lives with his wife and four children.
The 46-year-old business owner said: "The speed that vehicles come down this road, it's wrong. It's a 40mph road and you get lorries doing 60-plus regularly
"KCC have finally okayed an online e-petition to reduce the road from 40mph to 30mph, which if they do that and they put some bigger signs up and whatever, hopefully people will start getting the idea that this is a residential village and not a race circuit."
The e-petition on the KCC website runs until February 14 and has so far received more than 60 backers.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to The Street in Molash at around 10pm on December 18, where a car had collided with a parked vehicle. Damage to a property had also been reported.
"A passenger reported minor injuries and attended a local hospital for treatment.
"Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver who left the scene before speaking to police."
