A car ploughed into a barrier in a busy city centre.

Pictures showed police and ambulance vehicles at the scene of the collision, which happened on the A28 near Wincheap roundabout in Canterbury.

The car hit the metal fencing separating the dual carriageway along Pin Hill.

The incident is believed to have happened at about 2pm.

Pictures show the car’s bonnet left badly smashed in. The barrier was also dented.

The emergency services were contacted for further information.
