A man was arrested by police early this morning after a car was driven through the front door of Boots the Chemist in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay.
Police were called at 1.45am on Tuesday morning after those in the area heard a loud bang and the sound of smashing glass followed by an alarm.
The 8ft by 8ft front door of the shop had been smashed and a man was seen running from the store.
The 30-year-old from Herne Bay was arrested by officers in Dering Road at 2.10am on suspicion of breaking into the store and stealing prescription drugs.
He was taken to the QEQM Hospital at Margate for a check up and is now in police custody being questioned.
