A large-scale search for a missing 12-year-old girl has been redirected to London following a CCTV sighting of her in the capital.
Olivia Sands was last seen in person in Barham, near Canterbury, at about 10am this morning, with her disappearance sparking serious concerns for her welfare.
Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, sniffer dogs, police officers and specialist fire crews were among those scrambled to the village to search for Olivia.
Witnesses told how emergency workers scoured the banks of the Nailbourne river, with a helicopter joining the search overhead.
But rescue teams have now been stood down following a CCTV sighting of Olivia at St Pancras railway station in London shortly before 1pm.
Metropolitan Police officers are now helping Kent Police in their efforts to find the youngster, who is 4ft 5ins and wears glasses.
When she was last seen she was wearing a black, padded coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Kent Police on 101, quoting reference 17-0583.
