Christmas market stalls in Canterbury Whitefriars covered in loo roll

Christmas market stalls have been “mobbed” and teepeed with loo roll by a group of pranksters.

The toilet paper has been pictured covering the small huts in Canterbury Whitefriars selling festive pieces and a bystander has told of the moment she saw the decorating unfold.

Charlie Brown was on her way to work this morning just before 7.30am when she spotted what she described as three “cheerful women” with a trolley of toilet paper each.

She says she was baffled when she spotted them so asked what they were up to.

“Originally when I saw them with the trollies I had asked if they were doing a charity drive out of sheer confusion seeing three trollies full of toilet roll,” she said.

“They just laughed and said you'll see!”

The Tesco employee went on to explain the group walked past the shop before she saw them decorating the stalls with loo roll.

She said: “Ten minutes later I saw them chucking toilet roll everywhere, I popped out of the shop laughing. They were mobbing the stalls with toilet paper.

“I think it was in festive fun, with those Santa elves playing mischief.

“We all watched them flinging toilet roll everywhere.”
