A city centre restaurant which has been running for more than a decade has closed.
Oscar and Bentleys opened in Canterbury in June 2013 and soon became popular with diners, with its fish and chips a particular hit.
However, a statement on their website says the Guildhall Street bistro has now closed its doors.
The website reads: “We are sad to announce that Oscar & Bentleys has ceased trading.
“We’d like to thank all our lovely customers & staff for being part of our journey over the last 10 years.”
The firm also seems to have deleted its Facebook and Instagram pages.
The restaurant had a rating of four-and-half stars on Tripadvisor, from 944 reviews.
In October, the restaurant had its vivid pink parasols stolen from its outdoor seating area by a brazen thief.
However, three weeks later the umbrellas were returned. .
Co-owner Sarah Wren said that staff had gone to a lot of effort to make the site appealing in a bid to bring some life into the street with their bright pink parasols.
She said: “We’ve tried really hard to bring some life to a street which is, quite frankly, in a terrible state.”
A Facebook post from bosses added the umbrellas help people to find them and have become an icon for the restaurant.
With an overall rating of four and a half stars on Tripadvisor, Oscar and Bentleys has also been ranked as the best place for fish and chips in Canterbury, while others have branded the spot as a “stunning fully gluten-free gem” on the rating website.
