Outspoken Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson was revved up for filming the latest series of the hit BBC show in Chilham today.
Scores of fans crowded into The Square in the village as the 51-year-old extolled the virtues of the classic E-type Jaguar.
The controversial motormouth said: “It’s the 50th anniversary of the E-type so we’ve grouped some of them together in the square and we shall be filming here for the next two days and then filming on the South Downs.
“We needed a very picturesque village and this really fitted the bill and, I would say, most people have been very helpful.”
During breaks in filming fans, ranging from children up to pensioners, were able to go up to the presenter and get autographs and pictures.
Meanwhile E-type owners were spotted driving up to the square where around 20 of the vintage vehicles, which started production in 1961 and were constructed in Coventry, were parked.
The new series is expected to air on BBC2 in the autumn.
