A female coach driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a crash on the city’s outskirts in which two people died.
Canterbury estate agent Rachel Francis, 38, was left fighting for life and her 40-year-old partner Bryan Webster killed instantly when their red BMW collided with the coach at Harbledown.
Ms Francis, a branch partner at Ward and Partners, died from her injuries a week later.
Pauline Camplin, a National Express driver, has been charged with two counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
The 50-year-old, of St Mary’s Close, Nonington, has been bailed to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on February 26.
Ms Francis and her partner were travelling on the A2050 to the north of Canterbury when the crash happened at lunchtime on July 10 last year.
