A new late-night bar-come-coffee shop is to open in Canterbury offering live music and cocktails.
The Stag will launch in October on the site of the former Happy Samurai restaurant in St Margaret's Street.
It will host live music and open mic and comedy nights, alongside a cocktail and cask ales bar.
Manager Freddie Hewett, 26, said: “Everything in the shop will be homemade, like our quiche, pesto, and ham.
"We’ll also cater for everybody; about 70% of our menu can be ‘veganised’.
“We’re in the process of making limited-time-only burgers that will change every month or so.
"We want our customers to have an experience that you wouldn’t get at McDonalds, so we’re also making figurines to go with our burgers.”
The novelty burgers will include The Simpson’s themed ‘Chief Wiggum Burger’, ‘The Sweaty Sumo’, and for those looking for a lighter option, the ‘Carbun Fibre burger’.
There are also plans for The Stag to have an ongoing food challenge for customers who think they have the stomach for it.
“We’re so excited we’re scratching at the windows," Mr Hewett said.
"The Stag is going to look similar to the Stag coffee shop in Ashford, but even better. It’ll be decorated in plants, a neon sign and outside seating.”
The independent business is expected to open in mid-October.
It has been granted permission for an outside seating area.
