Staff and students were evacuated after a fire broke out at a college.
Two fire engines and two response cars were at the scene at Canterbury College in New Dover Road.
Fire crews say a small fire broke out in a ground floor toilet in the main building which has now been put out.
A spokesman said: “It’s believed the fire was started deliberately inside a bin.”
There were huge tailbacks in the area as emergency crews responded to the incident and minibuses transporting students home queued along the road.
An ambulance crew was also sent to the scene.
Two people were checked over by paramedics as a precaution, due to smoke inhalation.
Students were let back inside after more than an hour.
