More than 70 nominees have been received for this year’s Canterbury and District Sports Awards.
Nominations were made across nine categories and the winners will be announced at the awards dinner on Friday, November 20 at Kent University.
Footballer Matt Evans, from Canterbury, who played for England in goal at this year’s Homeless World Cup in Milan is nominated for Senior Sports Performer of the Year, while national junior rhythmic gymnastics champion, Keziah Gore, is shortlisted for Junior Sports Performer of the Year.

The full list of nominees is:
Junior Sports Performer of the Year: Philip Gower (archery), Keziah Gore (rhythmic gymnastics) and Rachel Hanagan (athletics).
Senior Sports Performer of the Year: Matt Evans (football), Brendan Barker (roller hockey) and Dan Richie (rowing).
Veteran Sports Performer of the Year: Jane Clayton (fencing), John Maylam (hockey) and Lionel Hoskins (tennis).
Junior Disabled Sports Performer of the Year: Stewart Lashley (multi-sport), Daniel Box (cricket) and Alfie Goldsmith (swimming).
Senior Disabled Sports Performer of the Year: Paula Newens (wheelchair tennis), Nick Boylan (swimming) and Liz Woods (horse riding).
Junior Club of the Year: Canterbury Rugby Club, Whitstable Youth Bowling Club and City of Canterbury Swimming Club.
Senior Club of the Year: Herne Bay Rowing Club, The Paddocks and Herne Bay United Roller Hockey Club.
Coach of the Year: Louise Edwards (horse riding), Phil McVey (roller hockey) and Linda Mason (badminton and cricket).
Unsung Hero: George Iafrate (angling), Carol Reed (tennis) and Tony Smith (swimming).
