Police have seized counterfeit vapes and tobacco from a city centre grocery store.
Constables and officials from KCC Trading Standards descended on Canterbury Grocery Halal Store on Wednesday afternoon and seized a large quantity of illegal vaping equipment and cigarettes.
At about 2pm, several uniformed officials could be seen inside the Lower Bridge Street store loading the illicit goods into large evidence bags.
No charges have been brought and no arrests were made.
Sergeant Lee Thompson, of Canterbury's Neighbourhood Task Force, added: “Part of our wide-ranging work keeping Canterbury safe is preventing potentially dangerous products like these from being sold to the public.
‘We will continue to work with partner agencies to monitor and interrupt the sale of illicit tobacco and illegal vaping products, which impacts law-abiding businesses and can endanger the public.”
Canterbury Grocery Halal Store declined to comment.
