A couple were tied up by masked raiders who broke into their home and demanded money.
The victims, aged in their 50s, were at home in bed when three men with their faces covered barged into the back of the house in Island Road, Upstreet.
They demanded cash from the victims, before tying their hands behind their backs with cable ties.
The suspects then escaped with jewellery.
The raid happened between 12.45am and 1.20am on Sunday, and police are now appealing for witnesses.
The men were all described as being in their mid to late 20s and wearing dark clothing. They left after carrying out a search of the property.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Pete Frampton said: "This incident happened in the early hours of Sunday so I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary.
"Upstreet is a rural location so it is possible those responsible for this incident used some type of agricultural or off-road vehicle to access the back of the property.
"I would therefore urge anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles in the area to come forward."
