Motorists suffered rush-hour chaos following a crash on the A2 near Canterbury.

The westbound carriageway was closed between Canterbury Road and The Street after a trailer containing building material, including wood and sand, overturned on the Boughton Bypass.

It meant lengthy queues for drivers heading towards junction 7 of the M2 at Brenley Corner.

It happened at around 5pm and it took until 6.20pm for traffic to clear.
