Cyclist flown to hospital after serious crash on A2 near Barham

A cyclist was airlifted to hospital following a crash on a busy A-road during yesterday evening’s rush-hour.

The A2 near Barham was closed while police and paramedics attended the scene of the accident, which saw a car and a cyclist collide on the coastbound carriageway.

The cyclist was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesperson added: “Kent Police was called at 6.19pm on Monday 11 November to a collision involving a car and a cyclist on the coastbound carriageway of the A2, near Barham.

“Officers and paramedics attended to scene where to A2 was closed to allow the air ambulance to land.

“The cyclist was taken to a London hospital where he was treated for injuries.”
