A 70-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he came off his bike while cycling along the A2 near Faversham
Police were called to the A2 at 3:55pm and closed the road between Four Oaks Road and Doddington Road.
The man suffered non-life threatening head injuries and a fracture to his arm and was taken by ambulance to William Harvey Hospital.
His family has been informed.
One person said on Facebook: "It didn't look very good - there was a person on the floor" and one person said the scene was "carnage."
Police set up a diversion through the Four Oaks Road, which caused a backlog of traffic, including lorries through the country lanes.
The A2 was cleared and reopened around 5pm.
