Faversham Town striker Danny Hockton says his move to Salters Lane has rejuvenated his career.

The 33-year-old much-travelled forward, who signed for Ray Turner’s side from Blue Square Bet South side Thurrock in November, scored his eighth goal in 14 games this season during the 3-1 win against former club Maidstone last Saturday.

His move to Town surprised a few people, but Hockton (pictured) says money wasn’t a factor.

He said: "I know I have dropped down a level, but I am enjoying my football, and it has given me a new lease of life.

"I am playing for the love of the game and want to give something back and help the younger lads at the club.

"There have been a lot of new faces at the club this season, but we are starting to gel and things are looking very good.

"I think if Ray can keep this squad together and add one or two, we could give it a good go next season."

Matt Bourne misses the home game against Godalming on Saturday due to a one-match ban, but new midfielder Sam Robinson and goalkeeper Rob French return after both were unavailable for the Maidstone game.
