Head coach Danny Vaughan admits his young Canterbury side are in for a tough season in National 2 South but has backed them to secure a top-half finish.
The city club begin at home to a strong Clifton side at Merton Lane on Saturday and Vaughan said: "It will be a tough year for us.
"We have a young side but we are capable of doing a job. We have lost personnel from last year and so we have got to play to our strengths.
"We are stronger up front than last year but we are young in the backs.
"We have to stay with the youngsters as they will grow from the experience of playing at this level."
Vaughan said he is keen to keep his side playing an attractive game, despite the change in personnel.
He said: "I like to play the game a certain way and if we can, we’ll keep doing that.
"I like to play an attractive game that gets people though the gate and try to score some tries and get points on the board."
