Stan Truelove’s Christmas lights show at his home in Canterbury has been named as one of Britain’s most spectacular on national television.
The dazzling display featured on ITV’s Daybreak on Tuesday morning who estimated his properties in South Street were decked out with 50,000 lights.
Stan, 56, who runs a greengrocers and a property maintenance business, has been decorating his home with lights for the last 18 years and over the last seven years has raised £30,000 for charity.
He said: "It was quite exciting to have the television cameras in our street but we have pulled out all the stops this year and spent £3,000 on extra lights.
"My future son-in-law Jason has been helping me because he’s an electrician and makes sure it’s all safe. We are also using low energy bulbs and LEDs to keep the electricity bill down."
Stan owns the property next door to his own which he rents out but both houses are decorated with the lighting display so it looks like all one property.
His efforts are helping to raise money for The Pilgrims Hospices.
