A dog has died after a bungalow blaze this morning.
Firefighters tried in vain to revive the dog after pulling it from a burning home in Risdon Close, Sturry.
The pet was given oxygen treatment as crews battled the fire, but it passed away shortly afterwards.
Crews arrived to find the property on fire and used breathing apparatus to enter the building and rescue the dog.
The Red Cross volunteers were called to support the home owners as the building was severely damaged and smoke-logged.
Fire crews had left the scene by 10.30am.
