Pretty twin sisters Cassey and Kellis Hood are locked in sibling rivalry – after both entering the same teen beauty pageant.
The identical blonde, blue-eyed pair are competing in Miss Teen Queen UK and vying for online votes to get into the finals of the nationwide contest.
Although still only 12 years old, they are eligible for the competition because they will be 13 by the time of the finals in August.
The pair, of Russett Road, Canterbury, are pupils at the Canterbury Academy, where they excel in sports and drama.
“The twins are very photogenic and loved posing but they have quite different personalities" - mum Natalie Hood
Mum Natalie Hood said: “Kellis was at the Clothes Show in London and approached by someone from the pageant and asked if she would like to enter. She brought back the entry form but because we went on holiday, I didn’t get round to filling it in.
“I then got a phone call reminding me and that’s when I told them she had a twin sister. They then said she should enter too and the next day we got called up to a casting and photoshoot in London, which was quite exciting for them.
“The twins are very photogenic and loved posing but they have quite different personalities.
“Their photos are now posted on the website www.missteenqueenuk.com where people can vote.
“Kellis has even been out promoting herself to get people to vote by putting up posters round the estate.
“But they are not very competitive between each other and I think would be supportive if only one of them got through.”
The promoters say the winner could be launched on a modelling career and will win a variety of prizes and travel opportunities.
