Driver arrested after pedestrian's death

A YOUNG woman pedestrian has been killed in a road accident on the New Dover Road at Canterbury.

The woman was in collision with a Renault Espace at about 8.30pm last night. She was not carrying any identification. It is thought she was aged between 20 and 30.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old from Dover, has been arrested and bailed and police are appealing for witnesses.

The road was closed until about midnight.
