A MOTORIST was seriously injured today in an accident involving two cars at Stone Street, Petham, near Canterbury.

Firefighters had to cut the man free from his car and he was taken to Kent and Canterbury Hospital with head and multiple injuries.

Police received a call about the crash, near Orchard Nurseries, at about 6.20am and closed the road at 6.30am. Diversions were set up.

Two Metros were involved in the collision. The driver of the other car escaped injury.
