Drivers faced rush-hour delays following a crash on the A2 this evening.

It happened on the A2 coastbound, just before the Esso garage on the Boughton bypass.

A picture sent to KentOnline shows cars gridlocked shortly after 6pm on the approach to the slip-road for Canterbury.

A lorry stopped at the scene but was not involved in the crash.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured following the collision.

Emergency services have been contacted for more information.

Traffic was easing by 8.30pm.
