Firefighters were called to a head-on car crash in Broad Oak Road, Canterbury, shortly before 8am today which blocked the road causing long tailbacks.
Two vehicles were said to be involved in a collision and both a man and woman were trapped in the wreckage of their cars.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the injured drivers who were treated by paramedics. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.
The crash happened at 7.50am between the Kingsmead roundabout and Farleigh Road and drivers were being advised by KCC Highways to avoid the area because of long delays.
Debris was cleared and the road was re-open by 11.30am.
