Drugs raids

A series of drug raids have led to a number of arrests.

The first warrant was on the home of Mark Drury who was charged with possession of heroin.

The 25-year-old of Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, appeared at Canterbury Magistrates Court on September 27 and was remanded in custody until October 10 when he is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court.

Roger Wieting was charged with possession of amphetamine and cannabis after police searched his home in Partridge Close, Broomfield, on September 29.

The 37-year-old was bailed to appear at Canterbury Magistrates Court on October 20.

Last Thursday a 49-year-old man from London was arrested near the Wincheap roundabout just after 9pm on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Police seized a quantity of brown powder believed to be class A drugs.
