Duo charged after stabbing near Canterbury East railway station

A duo has been charged after a man was stabbed outside a railway station.

Police and paramedics descended on Station Road East in Canterbury following a report of a serious assault.

A man in his 30s was taken to a London hospital with a stab wound.

Police say the injury is not believed to be life-threatening following the incident on Friday at about 1.20am near Canterbury East station.

A spokesman for the force said: “Following an investigation by East Kent CID, Rashaan White and Joseph Agbata, both 21, have both been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

“Mr White, of Wincheap, and Mr Agbata, of Station Road East, are due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.”

Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident but are appealing for any witnesses yet to speak to detectives to come forward.
