EastEnders star Scott Maslen put smiles on the faces of children’s charity Miles of Smiles on Sunday.
Scott, who plays Jack Branning in the BBC soap, agreed to become patron of the Kentish Gazette and kmfm’s charity of the year and also donated £3,500 to the children’s home on Stodmarsh Road, Canterbury.
The money was raised by anglers at Mid Kent Fisheries in Chilham, after Scott, who recently confessed his love of the sport on the BBC’s Tonight With Jonathan Ross show, was involved in a special Fishing with the Stars day.
Each angler paid £250 for the day, which also included breakfast and lunch and all proceeds were donated to Miles of Smiles.
Scott also donated an Albert Square street sign, signed by the Eastenders cast.
The charity hope to auction it off later this year.
