When the Blaxland family decided to get some ewes to graze a piece of land in Ash and then introduced a ram, they didn’t think their flock would multiply just as much as it did.
The ewes have each just given birth to a pair of lambs, all now living on an acre of land just behind The Street.
Robert Blaxland and his father Dennis have been looking after the sheep, which have become local celebrities and are attracting visits from schools.
Robert’s wife Anne, 36, said: “It is very unusual to have four sets of twins like this as we had got them in to graze the land.
“But we now eight – five boys and three girls – gorgeous little lambs. We are shocked and over the moon at the outcome.”
