Fire fighters rescued an elderly man from a burning bungalow this evening in Densole.

The fire is thought to have started at the property in Canterbury Road just before 5pm.

Two fire engines, police and an ambulance car were called.

Fire fighters used water to tackle the blaze, which left the windows of the bungalow blackened by smoke.

An elderly man was treated at the scene by medics in an ambulance responder car.
