A road in Chilham was closed for hours after a man died on Friday.

Fire crews, paramedics and the police were all called to Dane Street after a single car crashed at about 3.45pm.

The road, near to the A252, was closed in both directions and police said it would remain shut for several more hours as they carried out their investigations.

A police spokesman that a man in his 40s from the local area died as a result of the collision.

He added: "Investigations are continuing. Motorists should find alternative routes."
