A FORMER Canterbury council officer has resigned from her £56,000 post with Knowsley Council in Merseyside after raunchy pictures were found on her office laptop while she was away on holiday.
Carol Lamb, 44, who was head of policy and communication for Canterbury city council between 2000 and 2003, said the pictures were taken by her husband and only intended to be seen by herself and him.
After leaving the city council in June 2003, Mrs Lamb worked briefly for East Riding Council in Yorkshire before moving to Knowsley Council as head of communication.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Mrs Lamb said: “I am sorry if I caused any embarrassment to colleagues. The whole incident has been quite distressing for me because the photographs weren’t intended for others. They were intimate pictures of a personal nature taken by my husband which I wouldn’t choose to share with anyone other than him.”
She admitted that the fact the pictures had been seen by work colleagues made her position “untenable”.
After resigning over the photos scandal, she obtained a new job with Bedford County Council but was fired on her second day when it became aware of the reports.
A spokesman for Bedford County Council said: “Carol Lamb started with the council on a temporary basis. Following inquiries from newspapers in the North West about the reasons why she left her previous job, and allegations in those newspapers, the council decided not to continue with her engagement.”
