Detectives are seeking to establish how a woman died after being found "unwell" in a public toilet.
Police and ambulance services were called last night to reports of a female in distress in a lavatory in Canterbury Lane, Canterbury.
It is thought the victim may have suffered an overdose - though police could not confirm this.
A police spokesman said the call came at 1.17am this morning.
She said: "Officers attended the public toilets and a woman aged in her thirties had become unwell. She was taken to hospital but later died.
"Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death."
