The train with the fault arrived at Canterbury East where it terminated and had to wait for a train to attach to it to clear the line.

Those who were set to use these trains can now use their train tickets on Stagecoach buses including the 3, 3A between Faversham and Canterbury and the 15 between Canterbury and Dover.

Disruption is possible between Faversham and Dover until approximately 7pm.

The first train to run through from Faversham will be the 4.45pm Cannon Street to Dover via Chatham.
