A Faversham choreographer is helping conjure up some new moves for hit TV show 'The Magicians’.
Leigh Miles, from Eastling, has been directing Pete Firman on the Saturday night BBC programme. It's the latest addition to an impressive CV for Leigh which includes presentating and performing on Crackerjack, Top of the Pops and the Royal Festival Ballet.
The 48-year-old caught the performing bug from her mother, who was a popular Tiller Girl. But, after performing in her early years, she turned her hand to choreography and fitness instruction 20 years ago.
She said: "The Magicians is an exciting and fun show to work on.
"I love seeing how the tricks come together behind the scenes, but of course, I'm sworn to secrecy.
"There's a chance they'll be using more dancers in future series, so fingers crossed I'll have more chances to work on the show in the future and learn a few more inside secrets."
Leigh has now turned her focus to Zumba, the dancing and fitness craze sweeping the nation. New classes have just begun at the recently redeveloped West Faversham Community Centre.
She added: “I never really thought about doing anything else. Although, I tell new dancers now that they should think about having another skill as well because there is only a limited period you can actually dance. Into your early thirties if you’re lucky.
“It was a natural progression for me really from dance into fitness instruction and choreography. What's more, it's great fun."
The classes are on Mondays at 9.30am and Thursdays at 6.30pm for Zumba Toning, followed by Zumba at 7.30pm.
Participants must be 16 or older to attend or 14 if accompanied by a participating adult.
Classes are £5 on the door. For information on Zumba and the other classes Ms Miles runs around Faversham visit www.milesdanceandfitness.com
