A Faversham grandmother has been rewarded for years of loyalty to the same travel operator.
Ann Field was all smiles as she was presented with a cheque for £250 from holiday provider Newmarket earlier this month. For the last 21 years, she has booked trip after trip with the group on a wide variety of coach trips and evenings out with Newmarket and KM Headline Travel.
No sooner had the 72-year-old picked up her prize from the company’s Adrian Barry, she and husband Jack were packing the suitcase ready for five days away in Blackpool.
Ann, from South Road, explained the reasons behind her loyalty.
She said: “There’s a group of between eight and 10 of us who have been friends since school who usually travel around together on coach trips. We just all love going out and travelling around and can’t fault the service we get from the operator.”
Ann, born in Ospringe and a former Ospringe Primary and Ethelbert Road School pupil, has been on a wide variety of trips over the years. Her daughters Treena, Jane and Sue have also come along for the ride to places including the Coronation Street set, Emmerdale Country, Cadbury’s World and Heartbeat country.
Ann and Jack have also crossed the channel to Paris and Amsterdam.
Newmarket Group sales director Adrian Barry was delighted to hand over the prize to one of their most loyal customers.
He said: “Ann is a very loyal KM reader, who has been on no fewer than 21 reader holidays with Newmarket and Headline Travel to a wide range of destinations. It was a pleasure to meet her and give her some spending money on her next trip, which is a murder mystery weekend on the Severn Valley Railway in May.”
