Faversham manager Ray Turner insists all the pressure will be on Maidstone United when the sides meet at the Gallagher Stadium on Saturday.

The county rivals are both on course for promotion and they could yet meet again in the Ryman League play-offs.

But while Faversham are focused purely on finishing in the top-five, Maidstone’s goal is to pip Dulwich Hamlet to the title.

Knowing the Stones can barely afford to drop a point between now and the end of the season, Turner (pictured) has turned up the heat on Saturday’s opponents.

He said: "They’re a bit anxious about getting out of this league as quickly as possible. The support is fantastic at Maidstone and they’re a huge club at this level but sometimes it can work against them. It can transcend, get to the players and be a negative.

"They know they’ve got to win every game, with Dulwich having the game in hand. The longer the game goes on, the longer we’re still in touch, it puts a lot of pressure on them.

"If you look at our away record, do Maidstone want to be facing us? When we go away, we’re quite a force. There won’t be any anxiety from our point of view."
