Faversham Town boss Ray Turner has given his blessing to those who want to get excited about the Lilywhites’ ascent to the top echelons of Ryman League, Division 1 South.
Town are unbeaten in five league games and have won four of their last five in all competitions to go fifth ahead of Saturday’s visit of struggling Three Bridges, with a testing trip to Worthing looming on Tuesday.
With his side just two points off the top, Turner (pictured) admitted: “We’ve got to be excited by the table, although we’ll not get carried away.
“People say it’s early but we’re already a quarter of the way through the season.
“We’re in a good place at the moment, we are going into games expecting to win, which is a strange situation for us and we want to ride this wave for as long as we can.”
He added: “It’s good for the club for people to see us up there.”
Town’s fairytale cup form continued as 17-year-old youth team prospect Kieran Oliver scored two late goals to help the Lilywhites recover from 3-1 down with four minutes to play to beat Ryman League, Premier Division Cray Wanderers 4-3 in the Isthmian League Cup on Tuesday.
Jamie Maxted serves the second match of a three-match suspension and Danny Hockton (calf) and Ashley Brown (hamstring) are definitely out, while Luke Harvey (hamstring) is rated 50-50.
However, James Peacock (groin), Renford Tenyue (ankle) and Simon Overland (hamstring) should be fit and Antonio Gonnella is available after family commitments.
