Faversham Town have pulled off a transfer coup by signing Danny Hockton and the striker goes straight into the Lilywhites squad for Saturday’s game against struggling Burgess Hill.
Hockton (pictured) completed his move from Aveley on Wednesday, to the delight of Town manager Ray Turner.
Having scored goals for Dover, Margate, Maidstone and Bromley, the 32-year-old brings quality and experience to the Faversham forward line.
Turner said: "I’m thrilled that Danny has come in. It’s one of the biggest signings we’ve made at Faversham, someone of that pedigree.
"I’ve been on his trail since last season. We met some time ago and I stayed in touch. He’s got a massive reputation in non-league and I want to push this squad on. He’s been at some massive clubs in non-league and he brings a wealth of experience."
A home game against second-bottom Burgess Hill offers a good chance for Town to make further progress in Ryman League, Division 1 South after their 1-0 win at Godalming last weekend.
Ashley Brown, Shane Hamshare and Damian Abel are carrying knocks but all three are expected to feature on Saturday.
