Faversham Town to face Ryman League Division 1 South leaders Bognor Regis Town

Justin Luchford wants Faversham Town to banish the memory of a dismal home draw to kick-start an end of season surge.

Town drew for the fifth time in seven games against Merstham at the Shepherd Neame Stadium on Saturday, which leaves the Lilywhites three points and three places outside the play-off places, having played a game more than Burgess Hill in fifth.

They face a tough trip to leaders Bognor Regis on Saturday followed by the visit of Burgess Hill the following week.

Town boss Luchford (pictured) says despite Bognor having lost only once at Nyewood Lane this season, Town are keen to emulate their superb 4-0 win over them at home in January.

He said: "The next two games are big games for us, but I would not say they will define our season. A positive result on Saturday, no matter how hard it might look, would give us something to fight for.

"They have been to watch us play and they will be expecting a tough game and we hope we can give them one. We have nothing to fear, we have beaten some top sides."

He added: "I want a performance and commitment at Bognor. That is far more important than the result."

Sam Gore is back in contention after a groin problem.
