Twelve local bands have won the right to play on the bill at the Lounge On The Farm Music Festival.
The three-day event at Merton Farm, Canterbury, starts on Friday, July 10 and after a hotly contested online competition, some of Kent’s finest unsigned acts will perform on the main Cowshed stage.
Organisers launched the You Say They Play competition in May to find the best untapped talent around, giving festival ticket holders a chance to vote for their favourite act. More than 17,000 votes were registered within the first month, whittling the competition down to the final Farmer’s Fifty.
Following a tie for last place, the final top ten has become a top 12.
And the winners are......
Elephants
The Facades
The ColourSound Experiment
Billy Wears Dresses
Sunday Dress
The Sketch
The Suggestions
The Dukes
Hooligan Village
Southwood
Ghost In Mirrors
Twilight Green
A variety of sounds will be on display from the fuse funk, ska and rock tones of The ColourSound Experiment to the indie rock reggae tunes of The Dukes. Visit the competition website www.yousaytheyplaylotf.co.uk to read biographies, see pictures and hear tracks from the winning acts.
Line-up and times to be confirmed.
