An established highlight of the Canterbury Festival, this year’s Poet of the Year competition has been launched.
Organisers are inviting writers from across Kent to submit a poem or series of poems by the deadline on May 15.
Poems can be on any subject. Judges will choose a long list of entries, which will then be included in a published booklet available to entrants and the general public.
The competition final will be held on October 9, during the festival, when short-listed poems will be performed at the Domincan Priory and the Poet of the Year decided.
Entry is £5 per poem and they should be posted to the festival office or emailed to info@canterburyfestival.co.uk along with an application form.
