Six fire crews tackled a blaze at Faversham and Mid Kent MP Hugh Robertson's office on Thursday morning.

Crews were called to an ironmonger's in Faversham Road, Lenham, at 3.45am. Mr Robertson's office is above the store.

Firefighters were drafted in from Maidstone, Lenham, Marden, Sittingbourne and Faversham.

A height vehicle was also used to reach the flames.

Some buildings are believed to have been evacuated as a precaution, but fire crews were scaling back the whole operation by mid morning.
