Six crews of fire fighters have been battling through Saturday night to put out two separate fires in woodland in Herne Bay.
Three fire appliances were initially called to the scene in Thornden wood off Thornden Wood Road at around 8.30pm.
But as they battled the blaze, another fire nearby was spotted and more crews had to be drafted in.
Watch manager Leon Dyball said: "The woodland is like a tinderbox so it was well alight. Our main problem was getting enough water supply to the scene and we had to keep shuttling back to the nearest hydrant to top up our tanks.
"We still have firefighters at the scene this morning dampening down any hot spots but about 10 hectares have been affected."
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
