Firefighters from Faversham and Sittingbourne rescued a trapped driver and her dog following a crash on the M2 on New Year’s Day.
Her Toyota Celica lost control on the London-bound carriageway between junctions 6 and 5.
Green Watch at Faversham and Sittingbourne fire stations attended the scene, four miles outside of Faversham, around 4pm. No other vehicles were involved.
The driver, believed to be in her 40s, suffered a suspected spinal injury and was cut free from her car. Her shih tzu, which had been travelling with her, was also trapped inside, but escaped unharmed.
The London-bound carriageway was closed for a short period to allow emergency services to recover the car and was fully reopened around 5.30pm.
