Firefighters had to cut two people free from the wreckage of a two-car smash in Aylesham near Wingham on Thursday afternoon.

The collision happened at about 3.45pm at the junction of Spinney Road with the Adisham Road.

The road was closed while firefighters using special equipment released an 18-year-old Aylesham man who had been a passenger in one vehicle and the female driver of the other car.

Both suffered leg injuries and were taken to hospital. The road was closed for several hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident and the scene was cleared.
